Dr. Oz, who doesn’t watch and listen to what he has to say? This is a good move on the part of Oprah to help further healthcare education. 
Healthcare education is needed so badly today and the media is the first place to go. Unlike some other guests, his appearances do help bring information to those who might otherwise not be exposed. Recently I did a post on his “Regenerative Medicine” appearance. I post quite a bit here on the blog about this too and if it was not for the research that I do daily for the blog, I too would not be aware of what is available, what is going to be available and where new Research and Development is leading. Recently he spoke about the value of electronic medical records on the show.

I’ll be sure to keep a watch out when the show starts and hopefully there will be content that can be embedded here to perhaps high light some of the breaking news in healthcare technology we need to see. Oprah is not alone in her efforts here. The Gates Foundation is also investing in bringing educational matters to the media with their recent efforts to expand philanthropic corollary to product placement deals that they are “paying” for and not waiting for the media to “donate” time.

His show will be Winfrey produced. Nice to see some action in the areas of healthcare education. We hear so many talk about it, but little action and end up with “Magpie Healthcare” for the most part. Great move on Oprah’s part to recognize this and bring more of Dr. Oz to our televisions and media sources, we certainly need it and he has the talent and know to make this a success so we should all stand to gain. "He has taught us how our bodies work, how to get healthier, how to live longer," Oprah said of the man she's dubbed America's Doctor. "And he's made medical mumbo jumbo that doctors sometimes speak make sense to us."
The show takes a winding trip down memory lane, reliving some of Dr. Oz's more memorable show highlights, most of which involve red-faced, doctor-shy viewer—in addition to a surprise reunion between the good doctor and a baby he helped, but was unable to maintain contact with, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
"I have enjoyed every moment of everything we have done together," he said. "I've become a better doctor, a better father and, I think, a better human being because I've been able to work with you on these, and I promise you, I will make you proud."
The Dr. Oz Show premieres Sept. 14.
