Beware of toxic vegetables and fruits

An Apple a day keeps the doctor at bay, so goes the popular saying. But do you know that the shiny red and green apples that are flooding the market these days may actually be an open invitation to the doctor by causing various ailments? to increase their self life and to make them look attractive, these apples are coated with insoluble wax from petroleum that adversely impacts the digestive system besides compromising on the nutritional value. it's not just about wax coated apples, but almost all fruits and vegetables commonly available in the market are being tampered with for higher profits by unscrupulous traders and farmers.

List of toxic chemicals used to tamper fruits and vegetables:

Wax coated Apples: may cause diarrohoea or constipation, discoloration of tooth enamel, skin allergies and asthma in children. the waxing agent used in apples forms an insoluble layer in the alimentary canal and disrupt absorption of nutrition.

Calcium Carbide: (Used as fruit ripening agent) harms the liver and kidney and can cause ulcer.

Malachite green: (Used to add colour to green vegetables): toxic to the liver, it can cause anaemia and thyroid abnormalities. it has also been linked to asthma. migraines, thyroid, cancer, anxiety, clinical depression, blurred vision, spots on skin and itchy skin.

Sudan red: (for imparting red colour and ripening fruits): Digestion problems, and stomach ailmments.

Methanol yellow: (used for ripening fruits): Causes stomach ailments, cancer and affects male fertility.

Lead chromate: (used in fruit ripening): Can cause anaemia, blindness and brain damage.
